Education and Training
Raised in Florida and Texas, Dr. Decker completed medical school at Wake Forest University School of Medicine and a residency in Urology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, one of the premier institutions in the country. This rigorous training program equipped Dr. Decker with extensive knowledge and valuable experience that he brought back to serve the patients of North Central Arkansas.
The Most Rewarding Part of His Career
Reflecting on his professional journey, Dr. Decker shares, “One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is bringing innovative urological care to an area where these services are desperately needed. The gratitude and relief on a patient’s face, when their health is restored, is an indescribable feeling.”
Dr. Decker has always emphasized the importance of empathy in his practice. “The most crucial part of being a good doctor is not just the skills you have, but the compassion you show. A physician can be technically excellent, but without empathy, the care provided is incomplete,” he often states.
How Dr. Decker Has Helped Change Urological Care
Through his dedicated service, Dr. Decker has significantly impacted the landscape of urological healthcare in North Central Arkansas. His contribution to minimally invasive procedures has reduced recovery times and improved patient comfort.
Dr. Decker states, “In the past, many patients struggled with the limitations and side effects of medications for overactive bladder and incontinence. Today, we offer minimally invasive procedures such as InterStim that provide a more effective and sustainable solution.”
Pioneering Prostate Treatments: When he began, most treatments for prostate conditions were invasive, resulting in considerable discomfort and long recovery periods. Dr. Decker was an early adopter of minimally invasive techniques for treating prostate issues, radically transforming the treatment experience for his patients.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Decker has helped thousands of patients reclaim control over their lives.
