Implant Equipment Instructions – Smart Programmer
Congratulations on moving forward to the long-term therapy! We are excited to play a role in helping you restore control and reclaim your life. Let’s take a moment to review the remote control, or Smart Programmer, you’ll receive on the day of the implant, that lets us customize and adjust the settings for your InterStim® therapy. Our therapy support specialist will walk you through the features, get your settings where they need to be, and make sure you’re comfortable with it before you leave our clinic.
On the day of the implant, we send you home with a white box that includes the Smart Programmer and its accessories, and an instruction packet that includes your post-op instructions.
You will also be assigned a patient success specialist. This specialist will be your point of contact for all InterStim® related questions going forward. Her name, cell phone number, and email address will be listed on top of this white box, and inside the box we’ll include a handy card with her information that you can stick in your purse or wallet. Most of the time your specialist can help you over the phone, but, if for whatever reason she can’t, we’ll be happy to bring you back to the clinic, or in some cases, make a house call to take care of you.
As I mentioned before, our staff will get all your settings where they need to be and make sure you’re comfortable with it before you leave our clinic. And please make sure to review the post-op instructions for key information.
