Frequently Asked Questions

Who should attend this webinar?

This webinar is for anyone experiencing bladder leaks, sudden urges, frequent bathroom trips, waking multiple times at night, bowel accidents, or avoiding activities because of bladder or bowel symptoms.

What will I learn during the webinar?

Bladder and bowel specialists will explain why these symptoms may occur, review available treatment options, and discuss what may help when medications, pelvic floor therapy, or lifestyle changes are not enough.

Is the webinar free?

Yes. The webinar is completely free, and there is no obligation to schedule an appointment or pursue treatment.

Do I need to be a current BBI patient?

No. You do not need to be a current patient or have an existing diagnosis to attend. The webinar is designed for anyone who wants to better understand bladder and bowel control symptoms and possible treatment options.

Will I have to discuss my personal symptoms?

No. You will not be required to share personal medical information during the webinar. If you contact BBI afterward, your concerns can be discussed privately with a member of our team.

What can I do after the webinar?

If you would like to learn more, you may schedule a free phone consultation with BBI. Our team can discuss your concerns, answer questions, and help you understand whether an evaluation may be an appropriate next step. There is no cost or obligation.

Do I need a physician referral to attend?

No referral is required to attend the webinar. Insurance requirements for any future medical care may vary depending on your individual plan.

Will the webinar diagnose my condition?

No. The webinar provides general educational information and does not replace an individual medical evaluation. A qualified medical provider can determine which treatment options may be appropriate for you.

Are bladder and bowel control problems a normal part of aging?

These symptoms may become more common with age, but you do not have to simply accept them. Treatment options may be available to help you regain greater confidence, freedom, and control.

What if medications or lifestyle changes have not helped?

If medications, pelvic floor therapy, or lifestyle changes have not provided enough relief or have become difficult to tolerate, other options may help. The webinar will explain advanced treatment options that may be appropriate for certain patients.

What is sacral neuromodulation?

Sacral neuromodulation, or SNM, uses gentle electrical stimulation of the sacral nerves near the tailbone. These nerves help control bladder and bowel function, and stimulation may help improve communication between the nerves, brain, bladder and bowel.

Can I try the therapy before deciding on long term treatment?

Yes. A quick, 5-minute test is followed by a 3–4 day evaluation, so you can see if the therapy improves your symptoms before deciding whether to move forward with long-term treatment.

Will insurance cover the therapy?

Medicare, many state Medicaid programs, and many private insurance plans cover SNM therapy when coverage requirements are met. Benefits vary by plan, and BBI can help you review your coverage options.

Is this a new therapy?

No. SNM has been used for decades to help appropriate patients manage certain bladder and bowel control symptoms.

Can I have an MRI with an implanted system?

Many patients with current InterStim systems may receive a full body MRI when specific conditions are met. MRI eligibility depends on the exact system and required imaging conditions, so patients should always confirm with their medical provider and imaging team.
